EQUIP AUTO Lyon 2023: mission accomplished for the exhibition’s first Lyon show
The first edition of EQUIP AUTO Lyon lived up to its promises and drew to a close on Saturday evening on a very positive note, recording the attendance of nearly 25,500 professionals over the three days. Featuring a larger international contingent on both exhibitor and visitor sides, EQUIP AUTO, the reference event for innovation in automotive aftersales and services for connected mobility, successfully established a base in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This tradeshow which has become an annual event since 2021, combining business, insight and conviviality, confirms the industry’s need to meet up every year.
Inaugurated by a sizeable cohort of officials from the region and the industry, in the presence of Luc Chatel, Chairman of the Plateforme Automobile française, this debut Lyon edition of EQUIP AUTO brought together 605 exhibitors and brands, 50% of which were exhibiting for the first time; and welcomed nearly 25,500 professional visitors.
This new edition also provided confirmation of EQUIP AUTO’s international status, with more than 50% of exhibitors from outside France and a visiting public comprising a great many foreign professionals.
Referring to the organisation of EQUIP AUTO, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, the French minister for the Energy Transition, declared: “
The energy transition entails meeting the challenge of electrifying and reducing the weight of vehicles. It is therefore important to step up by creating factories and industrial jobs in our country, whilst also reducing our dependence on imported fossil fuels. I know that we can count on our engineers, technicians and all the downstream players of this market vertical brought together in Lyon to rise to the challenge of decarbonising the automotive fleet!
A popular programme and series of features
In a fast-moving automotive market, EQUIP AUTO stands out as the must-attend meeting for the automotive sector, its transitions, and its innovations. For this 2023 show in Lyon, the tyre market on the one hand and the powered two and three-wheeler market on the other received special attention.
Resolutely focussed on the future, EQUIP AUTO Lyon 2023 addressed, through three major forums and a comprehensive series of panel discussions, the issues and question marks faced by the automotive aftersales and services for connected mobility market, and that of all its players: European distribution, hydrogen, reusable parts, workshop waste, electric vehicle maintenance, remote diagnostics, training, recruitment, etc.
Five theme villages, an outdoor demo zone, a wrapping feature, a historical exhibition on tyres and the International Awards for Automotive Innovation also featured among the many highlights of this edition.
