EQUIP AUTO, on the road to 2023, 2024 and 2025!

EQUIP AUTO, on the road to 2023, 2024 and 2025!
After making headlines this year with Paris Automotive Week by synchronising calendars with the Paris Motor Show, EQUIP AUTO today announces the 2023 launch of EQUIP AUTO Lyon. This brand new meeting, taking place alongside the Lyon Motor Show, confirms EQUIP AUTO's intention to continue to leverage high profile events in France to bring together all the industry players working in automotive and the mobility of the future. These industry figures will continue to be accompanied by EQUIP AUTO at a yearly frequency, with a new edition of EQUIP AUTO On Tour in 2024, then in October 2025 with the tradeshow EQUIP AUTO Paris 2025, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary on this occasion.

The creation of EQUIP AUTO Lyon

At a special press conference held today on the eve of the opening of EQUIP AUTO Paris 2022, EQUIP AUTO unveiled its roadmap for the next three years, with its announcements including the launch of a Lyon edition of its show of the same name.

An exceptional, UNESCO World Heritage listed city, the cradle of mechanical locomotion with the construction in 1885 of the first combustion engine powered automobile, Lyon is also the capital of a French region, Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (AuRA), which entertains longstanding ties with the automotive industry.

Boasting nearly 55,000 employees in more than 21,000 companies, a competition cluster dedicated to mobility solutions, and the headquarters of leading companies in the mobility sector (Michelin, Renault Trucks, Iveco, etc), the AuRA region and the Greater Lyon area, situated at the crossroads of Europe, constitute a major economic basin in France and one of the lungs of its automotive industry.

These assets were decisive in convincing EQUIP AUTO of the advisability of a new major industry event to be planned in France's number 2 economic region. This opportunity became a natural choice thanks to the international potential of the city of Lyon, supported by its first-class transport connections (road, rail and air), its proximity with Switzerland and Italy, and the organisation of the Lyon Motor Show from 28 September to 2 October 2023.

Scheduled to take place at EUREXPO Lyon from 28 to 30 September, EQUIP AUTO Lyon will offer the market a structuring and inspiring international event in 2023. In synergy with the Lyon Motor Show, which has become a key event in the French automotive landscape, combining sales, passion, emotion and conviviality (65,000 visitors, 100 exhibitors and 45 car brands*), these two events will be an opportunity to once again bring together professionals and the general public, thus covering the entire value chain for the automotive and mobility sector.

From EQUIP AUTO On Tour to EQUIP AUTO Paris' 50th anniversary

Building on the success of its first edition last year, EQUIP AUTO is to repeat its touring format, EQUIP AUTO On Tour, in 2024, thus continuing to alternate with its flagship events. The mobilisation of exhibitors and the enthusiastic reactions of visitors at its first edition reflect a clear gear change in terms of expectations with regard to industry events, and a permanent need for convivial in-person gatherings conducive to business.

In October 2025, EQUIP AUTO naturally intends to assert its stance as the essential event in the automotive industry calendar with EQUIP AUTO Paris and the celebration of its 50th anniversary.

With this triple announcement, the organisers of EQUIP AUTO display their desire to capitalise on the consistency of their different formats and continue to help them evolve in order to provide ever-better responses to the expectations of a market facing on the one hand a three-pronged transformation (society, environment and technology), and on the other, a multi-faceted crisis (economic, energy and geopolitical).

"As a leading international tradeshow for the automotive aftermarket and services relating to connected mobility, we wish to remind everyone who drives the automobile market of today and tomorrow of EQUIP AUTO's promise: to shape the automotive future together. This is why we have designed a show calendar offering an astute combination of our different formats, leaving us nonetheless leeway to adjust them, and without conflicting with other key events in Europe" comments Philippe Baudin, chairman of EQUIP AUTO.
